My Tattoo Artist

This is my sweet baby girl Maddy =) I don't know what I'd do w/o her!!! I was looking through some older pictures and had seen these and said "Ahhhh... other mothers can or will relate!!!" My daughter and her first "Tattoo" ala-crayola. I had to scrub off as much as I could BUT most of it just had to wear off. Lesson learned- KEEP MARKERS WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES!!!

A family friend took our pictures at Cooper Park in Mtn. Home. Although we were all freezing our tails off Madison was a real trooper.

My little Indian

This Thanksgiving was a little out of our "ordinary" Thanksgiving. Missy and her family couldnt come up and Mom didn't want to cook so Mom and Dad took us out to eat at the Waggon Wheel in Mountain Grove. Before we went Madison wanted to play like an Indian since I taught her about the first thanksgiving and read her a book about Plymoth Rock. She told me she was thankful for crayons, glue, markers, God and Jesus, Papa & Jo-Jo, Me-Me, Jay-Jay, Nickey, Lauren, Ooper, Mr. Luke, our Church, Corn on the Cob and of course ME!!! She said that she needed to change into a dress because the pilgrim ladies wore dresses and that is why she's half naked in these shots so she is mad b/c I made her get dressed and well you can see who won that argument!!! We are all very thankful for our many blessings and we look forward to a better year next year =)

I love to see the Temple

We went to a non-member friends wedding in Memphis. Before we went to their wedding we first stopped at the Memphis Tennessee Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A lot of my friends and family know that I'm a Latter Day Saint (most people call us by a secular name- MORMONS). We believe that families can be forever and by being sealed in the Temple we know we will be a forever family and not just until death separates us- for more information go to http://www.mormon.org/ . Madison and I took pictures in front of the temple and a few of these pictures I just cried b/c it reminds me of the primary song I love to see the Temple. In one of those pictures Madison was looking in on the Temple and it looks as if she's thinking I'll go inside someday!!! AGAIN I JUST BAWLED LIKE A BABY!!! I look over these pictures tons of times and that song replays in my mind and I know one day Madison and I will return to the Temple w/ a worthy priesthood holder and become that eternal family one day =) The picture of the Temple spire with the Angel Moroni atop of it-believe it or not Madison took that one and it's a wonderful picture!!!

Madion's First Haircut

I think I took more pictures than any average person when my daughter got her first haircut!!! Good thing my friend Robin who cuts our family's hair at the House of Style in Willow (SHE'S AWESOME) was laughing her head off b/c she knew what it was like when her baby boy got his first hair cut!!! Madison thought she was the Queen of the day when we went to get her hair cut because we even went and got McDonald's!!! I was so sad b/c when she started cutting Robin turned and said to me "Do you need to sit down?" I told her I just cannot believe that my little baby is finally getting her hair cut for the first time. Robin made her feel like a true princess and every time we pass her salon now Madison says "I need a haircut, I need to see Ms. Robin!!!" WATCH OUT- A DIVA IN TRAINING!!!

Last Ha-Rah of summer (2)

One of my favorite spots was the taffy pull shop and the waterfall spot. Again they didnt turn out to well-(too dark). Madison enjoyed the free samples so I bought her some cotton candy taffy I might of sneaked a piece or 2 =) She was so worn out she almost missed the kids water portion of the park BUT she woke up and played and played. After that we went to the spinning top Guinness Book of World Records event we had so much fun our spinning top went all over the place!!! I was so busy helping Madison spin I forgot to take pictures-until it was over with then Madison took the map and said lets go here Mommy!! So I found out where the farm section was of the park and we went there and Madison loved it. She got to milk a cow, feed chickens and pump water. Again I was too busy helping to take pictures OH WELL so we'll go back sometime:) We had so much fun it's a great place to take the family. You all should check it out to see if its a place you would like to go at www.silverdollarcity.com it's really cool.

The Last Ha-rah of summer

The trip we took to Silver Dollar City (SDC) was really fun. Madison loved to ride the Dumbo-like ride the best too bad the pictures didnt turn out =( Her second favorite was the teacup-esque ride followed by the frog's. We went through the childrens part of the park and she had seen a peek of the gift shop and there were these stuffed animals-SHE LOVED IT =) If it were not for my friend Mark that I had not seen in 4-5 months Madison would have been looking straight at the camera-THANKS MARK (I hope his wife got a jab in his ribs for me!!). I'll post more pictures in a bit and follow up with some of my favorite highlights.

Wizard of Oz Museum

The tinman is 7 ft tall and has L. Frank Baum's grandson's signature on his shoulder

The 2nd picture is of a pair of ruby slippers that was a comissioned piece of art to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz it contains over 3,000 crystals and some rubies-AWESOME even though they wouldnt let me try them on =(

In the last photo is a wonderful quilt made by a local artist for the museum's grand opening. I wanted to take it home w/ me- OH WELL.

It's an awesome museum & I cannot wait to take Madison to it during Oztoberfest =)

They have all the surviving Munchkins from the movie there to sign autographs and have their picture taken:) The festival is pretty cool, they have a parade, a play at the local theatre and much more I CANT WAIT!!! Madison will love to see the museum she's loving the Wizard of Oz more than I do-(that's unbelievable).

In Memoriam

Robert Lloyd Mauldin (1938-2008)

Born to Lloyd and Martha Mauldin in 1938; Robert or as he was known to many Uncle Bob quietly passed away in July of 2008. He donated his body to medical science under the Genesis Legacy Foundation (genesislegacy.org) to help further medical education. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Ulysses & Martha Mae Mauldin, two sisters Priscilla Deane and Brenda Sue Mauldin as well as one brother Terry Dennis Mauldin. Uncle Robert survived by his 3 children Robbie James, Shellie Claudine and Sabrina Irene Mauldin. He also has survived by 3 sisters Sarah Smith, Nancy Coldicott & Joyce Essary as well as one remaining brother William Mauldin. He will be missed by all. The following poem has been adapted from the writings of
J. Morse and, I thought it truly fit my Uncle’s beliefs. We love you Uncle Robert and will miss you.

One quiet day the angels came
and took Uncle Bob far away
But in the stillness of the night
I could almost hear him say
Dear Family I will miss you
You mean so much to me
But Jesus called me to his side
In heaven I will be
A place of God’s great beauty
No tears or earthly cares
Only peace and joy forever
And love beyond compare
So remember all the special moments
Through the years we’ve always had
And if you trust in Jesus I can promise this and more
You will get a hug from Uncle Bob someday
and a little kiss.

Another Amazing Quote !!!

If ever there is a tomorrow when we are not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, & smarter than you think but most important of all, even if we are apart, I’ll always be with you- WINNIE THE POOH

Another Great Quote

A woman’s heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek him in order to find her
